I'm new to van camping, so for the first year I've decided to mostly follow what I call "the 240 principle." What is that, you say? For me, two-hundred and forty miles (or around four hours of drive time) constitutes a comfortable single day of travel with my 10-year-old Border Collie, Bella. That way, I'm still relatively close to my home base and I'm not putting too much stress on my canine companion. Mapping out that range, I've been amazed at how much there is to see in that 4 hour window.
What have been your favorite memories within the 240 window of your home base?
